Al-Marsad newspaper: The senior author of a study presented by the Harvard School of Public Health, Associate Professor Lu Chi and colleagues, revealed the “most dangerous blood type,” noting that people with blood type A, B or AB have a higher risk of coronary heart disease compared to those who have blood type O.
And for those at risk for heart disease, having an AB blood type tends to be more dangerous.
Professor Chi explained: “While people cannot change their blood type, our findings may help clinicians better understand those at risk for heart disease. It is good to know your blood type the same way you should know your cholesterol or blood pressure numbers. And if you know you’re at high risk, you can reduce your risk by adopting a healthier lifestyle, such as eating right, exercising and not smoking,” according to The Express.
And people with blood type AB were 23 percent more likely to develop heart disease than others.
Meanwhile, those with blood type B had an 11% increased risk. Those with type A blood had a 5% risk.
