Khabarni – Field Medicine Commander in the Royal Medical Services, Brigadier General Dr. Ahmed Sbeihat, said that the Jordanian field hospital, “Maternity and Prematurity/Khan Yunis,” came up with the idea of royal directives and special follow-up by His Majesty the King, in continuation of Jordan’s journey in serving the brothers in the Gaza Strip, and providing all capabilities. to them.
He added in radio statements on Radio Hala that the hospital’s goal is to provide comprehensive health care to pregnant women, maternity services and newborns from residents of the Gaza Strip and residents of Khan Yunis in particular.
Sbeihat revealed that, according to reports received from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, there are more than 50,000 pregnant women in the Gaza Strip, in need of direct health care.
He stated that the hospital’s location will be next to the site of the Jordanian field hospital in Khan Yunis, and will include a high level of equipment and basic and logistical services.
The hospital includes 85 medical staff, including gynecology and obstetrics, prematurity, anesthesia and intensive care specialists, pediatricians, pharmacists, and medical device specialists with a high degree of professionalism. It will also include midwives, nurses specialized in prematurity and childbirth, and operations, sterilization, and laboratory technicians.
Regarding the departments included in the hospital, Brigadier General Subeihat said that it will include 30 beds, 3 natural delivery rooms, an operating room equipped with the highest standards for difficult deliveries, 8 incubators in the prematurity department, pre- and post-natal care clinics, and a children’s vaccination clinic.
It will also include a recovery room, a sterilization unit and another for intensive care, a laboratory for performing tests and a blood bank, in addition to a pharmacy and support departments.
Brigadier General Al-Subaihat announced that the third batch of crews and salaries from the Jordanian field hospital in Khan Yunis arrived in Jordan after performing their duties for 3 months.
He pointed out that the mission of each staff in the field hospital in Khan Yunis lasts for 3 months and includes 122 people, including doctors and administrators, and includes many sub-specialties and main specialties, to deal with injuries resulting from the war.
The field hospital includes departments for general surgery, nerves, brain, arteries, children, orthopedics, internal medicine, general medicine, family medicine, and anesthesia.
He stated that the hospital receives 650-700 patients daily.
