Details of defamation of a Syrian citizen and resident..the disclosure of their crime and 6 penalties against them

Al-Marsad newspaper: The Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday that a Saudi citizen and a resident of Syrian nationality had been defamed following a court ruling was issued convicting them of committing the crime of covering up in the heavy equipment trade in Dammam.

The ministry stated that it had seized a case of cover-up in a contracting facility. As it became clear that the citizen (Abdullah bin Amer bin Ali Al-Qahtani) was empowered by the resident (Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Ali) in the activities of buying heavy equipment from auctions and selling it to facilities and individuals.

She added: “It was proven that the cover-up worked for his own account and the transfer of funds outside the Kingdom, in addition to increasing the volume of his financial transactions in a way that proves the commission of the crime of cover-up. Accordingly, the violators were referred to the Public Prosecution and then the judiciary, in implementation of the provisions of the anti-cover-up system.”

The Dammam Criminal Court issued a final judicial ruling imposing a fine of 400,000 riyals and defaming the violators at their expense, in addition to the ancillary penalties prescribed by law, which are closing the facility, liquidating the activity, writing off the commercial registry, preventing the covert from engaging in commercial activity, collecting zakat, fees and taxes, and deporting the resident. Covering him from the Kingdom and not allowing him to return to it to work.
