**Interview with Maria Papadopoulos, Social Security Expert**
**Interviewer:** Good morning, Maria! Thank you for joining us today to discuss some important updates regarding pension payments in Greece.
**Maria Papadopoulos:** Good morning, and thank you for having me!
**Interviewer:** There’s been a lot of talk about the upcoming pension payments by e-EFKA from April 25 to 28. Can you explain what this means for pensioners?
**Maria:** Absolutely. From April 25 to 28, pensioners in Greece can expect their May pensions to be deposited. This is part of an initiative to streamline payment processes and alleviate the overcrowding that often occurs at the beginning of the month when pensions are typically received.
**Interviewer:** This change is linked to Law 4611/2019, correct? What are some of the significant alterations that this law introduced?
**Maria:** Yes, that’s correct. Law 4611/2019, passed in May 2019, introduced changes to the scheduled payment dates for main EFKA pensions. The aim was to create a more efficient distribution system, ultimately benefiting not just the pensioners but also the service providers by reducing customer flow and enhancing service quality.
**Interviewer:** How are these changes expected to impact pensioners’ day-to-day lives?
**Maria:** By having specified payment dates spread out over several days, pensioners can manage their finances better, avoiding the rush and stress that come with everyone receiving payments at once. It also allows them to plan their monthly expenses more efficiently, which is particularly vital for those on fixed incomes.
**Interviewer:** Is there anything else pensioners should be aware of regarding these changes?
**Maria:** Yes, it’s always important for pensioners to stay informed about the exact dates they can expect payments, as well as any potential adjustments in the future. Keeping in touch with e-EFKA notifications can help them stay updated. Additionally, they should ensure their banking details are correct to prevent any delays in receiving their pensions.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Maria, for shedding light on these important changes. It sounds like these adjustments are a step in the right direction for enhancing the lives of pensioners in Greece.
**Maria:** Thank you for having me! It’s crucial to discuss these changes and ensure that everyone is aware of the improvements being implemented.
