Destruction of the Bol d’Or: the sanctions fall

The Quebec Student Sports Network (RSEQ) imposed various sanctions on Monday, including a ban on participation in the 2023 playoffs, in relation to the actions taken on November 19, when Condors players from Cégep Beauce-Appalaches seriously damaged the Bol d’ Gold.

The organization thus announced the conclusions of its investigation and made the consequences public. The RSEQ wanted to identify the people responsible for the destruction of the trophy, in addition to fining the cegep concerned $10,000. In addition, the athletes responsible for the damage will be on probation for a period of two years.

A month following the events, the RSEQ concluded on Monday that the Condors players had made “disgraceful and irreverent” actions, as mentioned in a press release published in the morning.

After hearing regarding the recommendations following the investigation, the RSEQ Board of Directors unanimously adopted a resolution. The latter establishes the consequences of the actions taken.

Following the events in question, the Condors players publicly apologized and received college sanctions.
