The company OceanGate generated controversy following continuing to announce new trips to visit the Titanic, despite the tragic implosion of its Titan submarine. Five people died in it.

Now, the company is promoting two new trips for 2024 that are worth $250,000. The first is scheduled for June 12-20, and the second for June 21-29.

To publicize the expedition, the company details that it is an “opportunity to get out of everyday life and discover something truly extraordinary.”

“Follow in the footsteps of Jacques Cousteau and become an underwater explorer, starting with a dive on the wreck of the RMS Titanic,” the ad adds.

what happened to the submarine

The Titan submarine, from the OceanGate company, took five people to see the remains of the famous Titanic.

However, contact was lost and nothing was heard from the ship for days. Later, the experts assured that the submarine suffered an implosion on June 18.

The search was very demanding: “It was extremely demanding and exhausting for the team that was working day and night with almost no sleep all this time, during ten days of work,” said Jeff Mahoney, a spokesman for Pelagic Research of New York, which owns the vehicle used in the search for the wrecked submersible.

On board the submersible were the founder of the company that organized expeditions, Stockton Rush; British businessman and adventurer Hamish Harding; French explorer Paul Henry Nargeolet; Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, and his son Suleman.
