Recurring droughts are beginning to pose more and more difficulties for Walloon farmers. We take stock with several experts.
In Belgium, the drought is still there. After the rains and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday, and disturbances from the Atlantic which could still lead to showers at the start of next week, a new high should then settle again in our country and lead to a time ( temporarily?) drier from the middle of the week.
Even if these precipitations will partly dampen the evolution of the drought towards the extreme indices, they should not significantly change the trend. This drought is in fact the result of a rainfall deficit which has been increasing since March and cannot be reduced with a few days of rain.
