In the meantime, fans of the franchise are waiting for the belated Gruvitation.
Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment are set to release Despicable Me 4 in 2024 on July 3rd.
All of the original voice actors, including acclaimed comedians Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig, will reprise their roles. And, of course, there will be many minions in the picture. The script will be written by Mike White, who wrote School of Rock (2003), Welcome to Zombieland (2009) and The Emoji Movie (2017). This publication reports The Wrap.
But if the announced date seemed too far away for you, then don’t be discouraged. In the summer of 2022, the cartoon “Mignon: Gruvitationis another prequel to Despicable Me and a sequel to 2015’s Minions. The picture will tell regarding how young Gru, with the support of his little yellow friends, embarked on the path of evil.
The premiere was supposed to take place back in 2020, but the release was postponed due to pandemic. The final release date in Russia is June 30, 2022.
