Desperation Deepens: Gaza’s Vital Lifelines Unravel as Hospital Siege Takes Devastating Toll

Residents of Khan Yunis told Reuters that Israeli tanks had advanced near Al-Nasser Hospital, carrying out heavy air and ground bombardment.

In another attack on Sunday, seven people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Rafah. During the last 24 hours, 84 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli aggression.

At least 32,226 Palestinians have been killed and 74,518 wounded in Israel’s nearly six-month-long operation.

Meanwhile, the head of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, said in Cairo on Sunday that Israel needs to remove obstacles and checkpoints in the way of aid in order to deliver the necessary aid to Gaza, which is at risk of famine.

According to the AFP news agency, during a joint press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, the head of the United Nations called for relief from the plight of Palestinian children, women and men who are struggling to escape the nightmare in Gaza. Therefore, he reiterated the demand for an immediate ceasefire on humanitarian grounds.

He said, ‘Looking at Gaza, it almost seems that the horses of war, famine and death are galloping here.’

He added that the whole world recognizes that the time to ensure a humanitarian ceasefire has already passed.

Earlier, Antonio Guterres also met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and visited the Rafah border crossing in Egypt and al-Arish airport where aid is delivered to Gaza.
