Desmond Bane thinks they need to be more physical to beat Minnesota

It was the first unexpected result of the 2022 playoffs. Memphis, second in the Western Conference, fell to Minnesota in Game 1 117-130. Obviously no one expected it to be easy for the Grizzlies, but neither did they expect them to start their way into the current postseason losing. Without being able to change what happened, Desmond Bane bets on looking forward and turning the intensity of the team on the track; he basically thinks they lacked physicality in the first matchup with the Timberwolves.

«The importance of the physical level is something that we addressed at the beginning of the series, I think that in the first game he was not at the necessary level, at least the one needed to win. We are going to have to be a little tougher to win a playoff series, ”says the forward in statements to Damichael Cole of Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Taking a look at the numbers, the truth is that Memphis was surpassed by its rival in 11 rebounds, allowing just that amount of offensive sacks to Minneapolis. If they manage to balance this balance it will improve the perspective of the boys of Taylor Jenkins, but they will still have work ahead. In attack they were not good either and might only convert 7 triples in 27 attempts (the Wolves made 16 of 41). There are several facets of the game to improve to balance the tie.
