Designer Alessandro Michele leaves Gucci

The other day there was a rumor that designer Alessandro Michele, who worked in the company for twenty years, six of them as creative director, left the fashion house Gucci.

And now the Gucci brand and its parent company Kering have officially confirmed that the fashion designer has left them. Gucci President and CEO Marco Bizzarri thanked the designer for the long-standing collaboration, as well as “for his vision, dedication and unconditional love for this unique home.”

“There are times when paths diverge because of the different points of view that each of us can have. Today is the end of an extraordinary journey for me that lasted more than twenty years, within the framework of a company to which I tirelessly devoted all my love and creative passion, ”the fashion publication quotes 49-year-old Michele WWD.

“During this long period, Gucci has been my home, my foster family. To this big family, to all the people who took care of her and supported her, I express my most sincere gratitude, the biggest and most sincere hugs. Together with them I wished, dreamed, imagined. Without them, none of what I have built would have been possible. To them, my most sincere wish: continue to cultivate your dreams, subtle and intangible matter, for which it is worth living. Keep nourishing yourself with poetic and inclusive imagery while staying true to your values. Always live your passions, driven by the wind of freedom.”
