If the Samsung Galaxy S tend to point the tip of their nose at the start of the year, we already know a lot thanks to the multiple leaks on the future Galaxy S24, expected around February or March 2024.

A brief overview of the rumors regarding the flagships of Galaxy smartphones. This article will be updated regularly with the latest leaks and rumours.

Contrary to a rumor from the start of the year, there should be a Plus model in 2024. The range would be as follows:

Galaxy S24 ;
Galaxy S24 Plus ;
Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Galaxy S24 design and screen

On the design, no official visual or almost reliable 3D renderings have leaked. However, we can have fun with the renderings of the Galaxy S24 Ultra imagined by 4RMD.

More prosaically, the leaker Ice Universe, very knowledgeable when it comes to Samsung, posted a series of tweets claiming that the Galaxy S24 Ultra might ditch the curved screen design for a completely flat screen. This would go along with the story since the Galaxy S23 Ultra was already less domed than its predecessor.

This would cause the borders to take on a bit of plumpness. Count 3 mm at the top and bottom and 3.42 mm on the sides. The body/screen ratio would drop to 88%, the lowest since the Galaxy S10.

always according to Ice Universethe frame of the S24 Ultra might be made of titanium, which would make it more resistant.

A major novelty for the Galaxy S24 and S24+, the two smartphones would finally benefit from an LTPO screen, which would make it possible to reduce screen refresh to 1 Hz, thus improving autonomy.

Photo: some information surfaces

For the time being, we are completely unaware of the photo configuration of the two basic models. The Ultra meanwhile should play immobility. Ice Universe advances the following photo configuration:

200MP main sensor (Isocell HP2); Ultra wide angle with 12 MP IMX 564; X3 telephoto lens with 12 MP IMX 754 sensor; 10x telephoto lens with 12MP IMX 754+ sensor (cropped to 10MP).

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra changes the sensor of its X10 telephoto lens without much more detail.

Performance: back to the Exynos?

The Galaxy S23s had us excited, not least because for the first time they were all equipped with a Snapdragon processor. Until now, Samsung had accustomed us to offering Snapdragons only in the United States and South Korea.

The Suwon firm would reconsider this decision from the Galaxy S24. Samsung would indeed be determined to reintegrate an Exynos in its next flagships.

The Exynos 2400, that would be its name, would at least partly catch up. Its GPU part in particular, designed in partnership with AMD, let’s remember, would be equipped with 12 RDNA2 GPU cores, twice as many as the Exynos 2200. We expect graphics power equivalent to that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Let’s hope, however, that the chip won’t overheat too much and avoid the teething mistakes of the Exynos 2200, the first chip co-designed by Samsung and AMD, which disappointed us a great deal.

In addition, this SoC engraved in 4 nm would be the first of a Samsung smartphone to only support 64-bit applications. This wouldn’t change a lot of things in practice: a little more RAM for the system, a slight gain in security and that’s all.

Still on the performance side, Samsung would pass the Rubicon and opt for a basic configuration with 12 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage. Enough to accommodate the next versions of One UI which are always more space-consuming.

Towards a better battery and faster charging?

On the autonomy side, we have no information on the Galaxy S24 for the time being. On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 Plus and S24 Ultra should, according to Sam Mobile, displaying 4900 mAh and 5000 mAh respectively. We would therefore have an increase of 200 mAh for the Plus while the Ultra should not evolve on this point.

On the charge, the sources diverge. The authoritative Ice Universe claims 45W charging on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, like the previous two years. But the leaker RGcloudS, less recognized in the industry, suggests that Samsung might increase the charge to 65 W. To achieve this, Samsung would have changed the structure of its batteries to make them denser, taking inspiration from electric cars.

Price and release date

For now, we don’t know anything regarding Galaxy S24 prices and availability. It’s normal, the launch is still a long way off. However, we can rely on the launch of the Galaxy S23.

As a reminder, sales started on February 17, 2023 with a presentation on February 1. Here are the starting prices as a reminder:

Galaxy S23 (8 + 128 Go) : 959 euros ;
Galaxy S23 Plus (8 + 256 Go) : 1219 euros ;
Galaxy S23 Ultra (8 Go + 256 Go) : 1419 euros.
