The vandal who desecrated the monument to Soviet soldiers on May 7 voluntarily surrendered to the Tartu police. This is reported by the national broadcasting corporation ERR.
According to the Tartu police station, on the night of May 8, a 36-year-old man called the Alarm Center and confessed that he and his friend went to the monument on Raadi and painted it with symbols and words.
“The man admitted that both he and his friend had consumed alcohol. Both regret their rash act on a drunken head,” said Timo Reintal, head of the procedural department of the Tartu police station.
