DEPUTY Minister of Foreign Affairs (Wamenlu) Arif Havas Oegroseno admitted that he had not received instructions regarding the distribution of duties, in contrast to the two other deputy foreign ministers who had revealed their specific duties.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir previously admitted that Prabowo had been tasked with handling foreign affairs for the Americas and Europe, while Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anis Matta said he had been entrusted with managing Indonesia’s relations with the Islamic world.

“We have to wait for specific directions or targets, we are waiting for directions from the President,” said Havas after the Inauguration Ceremony of Deputy Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Presidential Palace Complex, Monday (21/10/2024).

However, he stated that he was ready to serve in his new position to ensure that Indonesia continued to play a positive role amidst global dynamics.

“Today’s world developments are increasingly uncertain, so it is hoped that Indonesia can continue to play a positive role in this increasingly difficult situation,” he said.

Havas believes his duties will not be far from the essence of the speech Prabowo delivered after being inaugurated as President of the Republic of Indonesia on October 20 as well as the work programs that have been announced.

This direction, he said, was also to help him adapt to his new assignment after serving as the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany for 7 years, where his focus at that time was solely on strengthening relations.
bilateral.

He himself admitted that he only received information about being appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on Saturday (19/10), when he was traveling between cities in Germany. That’s why he couldn’t be present when President Prabowo announced the composition of deputy ministers in the Red and White Cabinet on Sunday (20/10).

Arif Havas Oegroseno is one of 55 Deputy Ministers of State for the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 period who were inaugurated by Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday.

The inauguration agenda is based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number Keppres Number 73M/2024 concerning the Appointment of Deputy Ministers of State for the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period which was signed by Prabowo as of October 20 2024. (Ant/P-3)
