Last chance: until August 20th, send in a photo under the motto “Vienna is blooming”!
Vienna (OTS) – The photo competition of the City of Vienna “Blooming Home” is celebrating its 15th anniversary and is pleased with the lively participation. We are looking for the most beautiful private green oases in the city. Hobby gardeners can take part until August 20th and win great prizes.
“I cordially invite everyone in Vienna to send in photos of their ‘blooming home’ by August 20th. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a balcony, terrace, windowsill, garden, indoor garden or community garden – it’s nice to see the enthusiasm with which the Viennese garden and how Vienna is blossoming,” says Deputy Mayor and City Councilor for Women and Housing Kathrin Gaál.
All green oases in the city have a chance to win
Whether flower box, balcony, terrace, garden or indoor garden – there are chances of winning in all these categories. In the “Urban Gardening” category, community gardens, mobile flower beds, flowering inner courtyards and green tree pits are selected. A separate “Social Media Prize” honors the best Instagram posts from your own flowery oasis. All Viennese kindergarten and following-school care groups are also invited to submit handicrafts on the topic “My most beautiful flower box”.
The “Indoor Garden” category allows all those Viennese who have neither a balcony nor a garden to participate, but who have created a jungle of plants at home. The same applies here: the more creative and green the indoor green oasis, the better – regardless of whether vegetables, herbs or flowers are planted.
Take photos, upload, participate
And this is how it works: Photograph your own green oasis, upload a photo and take part! All Viennese with a green thumb and a camera can take part in the photo competition. We are looking for the most beautiful photos of private plants – regardless of whether they are flower boxes, balconies, terraces, gardens, indoor gardens or urban gardens (except small gardens). Participants can upload a photo of their own green oasis to the website.
Those who are active on social media can also participate via Instagram. Just post a photo with #bluehendeszuhause and #wienbluehtauf, the profile blossominghome Follow us on Instagram and you’re already in the photo competition.

Great prizes for winners
The well-known organic gardener Karl Ploberger and a prominent expert jury select the winners of this year’s photo competition from all the entries. Great material and cash prizes as well as signed publications by author and organic gardener Karl Ploberger await the winners. / Ending
