In a joint meeting, the Energy and Fuels Commissions, together with the Budget and Treasury, will seek to issue an opinion on the Bill dated May 28, 2023 by which a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Promotion Regime In our country. The objective is to sanction this initiative in tomorrow’s special session.
The Bill that seeks to create the LNG Promotion Regime, proposes to declare the liquefaction of natural gas for the export of Liquefied Natural Gas to be of national public interest, with the aim of developing the value chain of the LNG industry. , promote exports and promote the technological development of the sector.
In addition, the creation of a Promotion Regime for large projects is proposed that includes the transportation of natural gas destined for the production of LNG, its liquefaction, storage and transportation; and its marketing and export. Those who present projects within the first 3 years of their sanction will be beneficiaries (extendable for another three years by the application authority).
In line with said Project, the Frente de Todos requested a Special Session for this Tuesday, to debate a set of economic projects, such as the initiative that refunds VAT on products in the basic family basket, and the reform of the rental law, the project that promotes the production of Liquefied Natural Gas, among others.
