Deputies request to query the Minister of Tradition as a result of “non-attendance at summons”
Deputies query the failure of the Minister of Tradition and Sports activities to attend summons to Congress, which is why they requested that the official be questioned.

A bunch of deputies requested the president of the Congress of the Republic, Nery Ramos, to query the Minister of Tradition and Sports activities, Liwy del Carmen Immacolata Grazioso Sierra, as a result of, in keeping with the parliamentarians, the official has not attended a number of summonses which have been made to handle numerous points, it was reported this Friday, June 21.
In keeping with a doc despatched by the deputies, the request for interpellation in opposition to Grazioso relies on two articles of the Structure, which authorizes them to interpellate ministers of State and obliges the latter to “current themselves to Congress with the intention to reply to the interpellations.” that they be formulated.”
The interpellation was requested, in keeping with the deputies, as a result of Grazioso has not proven as much as a number of summons which have been made to him to find out about issues associated to his administration on the head of the Tradition and Sports activities portfolio.
The deputies request the interpellation of the minister to handle “her failure to attend official summonses by the Sports activities Fee of the Congress of the Republic of Guatemala, the low funds execution for the interval January 14, 2024 to the current date, administration and return of archaeological items to the Ruta Maya basis and lack of authorized actions for acts of corruption in earlier administrations.”
As a result of above, the parliamentarians ask Ramo s to “urgently” set a time and date for the interpellation; Moreover, they element that article 167 of the Structure establishes that “when a minister is questioned, he might not be absent from the nation, nor excuse himself from responding in any means.”
For her half, Minister Liwy Grazioso said: “To date we have now not been notified. If this could happen, we’re totally prepared to answer any requirement or request that Congress makes to us.”
