Santo Domingo, June 14.- The Chamber of Deputies approved this Wednesday a resolution that will recognize 28 Dominicans residing abroad and from which it excluded María de los Ángeles Domínguez Trujillo, sister of Ramfis Domínguez Trujillo, both grandchildren of former dictator Rafael Trujillo Molina .
María Domínguez Trujillo was included in the original resolution that the deputies approved in two consecutive readings, but the proponent of the resolution, the overseas deputy, Ramón Ceballos, rectified in relation to the woman and said that he was unaware that she was among the group to be recognized .
In this sense, he asked the Plenary of the deputies to exclude his name and to approve the resolution with the other recognized ones.
“It is human to reconsider and we will always be on the side of projects that strengthen democracy,” Ceballos said when motivating his initiative, which has already been approved in two readings by the Chamber of Deputies.
The deputies, on the other hand, approved the resolution through which the Chamber of Deputies requests the President of the Republic to include in the General State Budget for the year 2024 the expansion of rail transport from Los Alcarrizos (not yet completed) to the Santiago province.
Likewise, the legislators approved another resolution in which the Chamber of Deputies recommends to President Luis Abinader to instruct the Ministry of Tourism to rebuild the protection wall for bathers and marine species on Najayo beach, in the municipality of San Gregorio de Nigua, San Cristobal.
In one of its recitals, it states that the “beautiful” beach of Najayo, located on the Caribbean coast of the province of San Cristóbal, made up of gray sand and small stones, has two different areas, one of them “bigger than the other”. and it has numerous restaurants and bars around it “that allow visitors to enjoy a full day at the beach in this amazing place”.
