Lorraine de Fierlant became a municipal councilor in 2012 then alderman in 2018, in charge of the Economy, businesses and Personnel. “I was delighted to hold this mandate and I encourage anyone interested in politics to get started“, she tells us. “People are disinterested in politics, but for me, it’s one of the best jobs in the world. Today, I don’t regret leaving the political world because I learned a lot.“
Lorraine de Fierlant will remain a Schaerbeek resident and will continue to follow the evolution of her commune and its ups and downs. “No, I’m not leaving college because of tensions“, she adds. A college made up of the Mayor’s List and Ecolo-Groen has been in agony for several months between the chaotic implementation of the Good Move plan, the repeated absences of quorum at the municipal council, the departure of the former alderman Défi Sadik Koksal for the MR, financial concerns like those revealed within the CPAS or the complaint of Alderwoman Haddioui (Ecolo) against his colleague De Herde (DéFi).
