After 48 intense hours, the Free Agency market has calmed down and the news is now mostly made up of small signatures. Like that of Justin Holiday at the Nuggets on Sunday at the end of the day.
Passed by Atlanta then Dallas this season, the eldest of the Holiday brothers will continue his NBA career on the side of Denver, winner of the NBA title last June. It was Adrian Wojnarowski, who hasn’t slept since Friday evening according to our sources, who released the information. We’re going on a one-season deal, at minimum wage ($3.2 million) according to the Denver Post.
Justin Holiday arrives at the reigning champions, a few more options on the wings just in case.

Turning to just over 4 points on average this season, Justin Holiday will not revolutionize anything at the Nuggets, and his signature may seem anecdotal. Except that if the 2023 champion chose to recruit him, it was because there were holes to fill in the second unit. Not only did Denver lose Bruce Brown (left to take a nice jackpot from the Pacers) to the Free Agency, but veteran Jeff Green also chose to leave Colorado to join the Rockets. It’s a lot.
The Nuggets won’t expect Holiday to perform like Almighty Bruce or take on a locker room leadership role like Uncle Jeff. But his experience – ten years in the NBA – will be valued in Michael Malone’s group. The 34-year-old winger, renowned for his professionalism and capable of planting a few 3-pointers (36.3% career success) while being serious in defense, should thus fit well into the four-star collective of Denver. Justin will also represent a positive influence for the young nuggets of the group, like Christian Braun and Peyton Watson.

Justin Holiday: Solid depth signing. Veteran, good locker room presence, someone who will accept his role. Good size and defensive pedigree if Denver needs him to play. The way the Nuggets’ roster is set up, Peyton Watson still has an inside track on securing a rotation spot.
