Denmark overtakes Switzerland in the competitiveness ranking

In 2022, Switzerland lost its throne at the height of economic competitiveness to Denmark. The small northern kingdom has gained two ranks at once, winning in the fields of business, production efficiency and management practices, details Wednesday the periodic ranking established by the International institute for management development (IMD).

The Swiss performance remains robust, with a second place. The Confederation notably won the categories of government efficiency and infrastructure. Singapore completes the podium, thanks to significant progress in the areas of the domestic economy, employment and public finances in particular.

Sweden, Netherlands, Finland and Norway in the top 10

“Small” economies remain well represented at the top of the rankings, with Sweden, the Netherlands, Finland and Norway in the top ten.
