Deniz Hümmet’s strong form continues.

The Djurgård attacker scored a dream goal in the win once morest Värnamo.

– It was a hell of a tub, says Hümmet.

After a poor start to the match at Tele2 Arena, Deniz Hümmet, 27, took matters into his own hands.

The striker received the ball well outside the penalty area in the 17th minute and charged in with his right foot.

The ball drilled its way up the crossbar and went in via the post behind Jonathan Rasheed in the Värnamo goal.

Hümmet’s sixth goal in his last six games.

After several chances in both directions in the second half, Gustav Engvall had a good position at the end to equalize once morest his old club.

But Djurgården held back and managed to keep the away team to zero.

“A damn tub”

Hümmet who was very happy with his match-winning goal.

– I’ve checked it now and it was a bloody mess. I don’t know which goals have been scored, there have been some nice ones, but for me it is clearly at the top.

Was it a new target gesture?

– Yes, Batman. I’m a huge Marvel fan. Batman isn’t Marvel like that, but I like them all. It was just a little joke.

You ran Spiderman once morest BP.

– I am all of them, I drive them all.

Who will it be next?

– Captain America maybe.

Danielson back

Djurgården’s team captain Marcus Danielson suffered injury problems at the end of the Allsvenskan spring season.

The team’s star centre-back was benched in the restart once morest Norrköping.

Now he was back and, as I said, had to keep a clean sheet in his return.

– It feels good, a bit tired towards the end, but nice to get a full match in the legs and to keep a clean sheet, says the centre-back to Max.

Approaching Malmö

With Mjällby’s win once morest Malmö on Saturday, Djurgården is now closing in on the league lead.

– It was an opportunity for us to tap in and we are doing that today. That we key in was damn important, says Hümmet and continues.

– Malmö is a good team, but we are also very good. We should only focus on ourselves, I think it will be wrong if we think too much regarding what Malmö is doing, he says.

Today’s win means that the team regains second place from Mjällby and is four points behind first place, with one game less played.
