In an official statement, on Sunday, the Sudanese army denied that it had launched any air raid, on Saturday, in the city of Omdurman in the capital, Khartoum, which resulted in the death and injury of civilians.
The General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces said that the Air Force did not deal yesterday with any hostile targets in Omdurman.

Later, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, condemned the killing of civilians in Omdurman.
A UN spokesman said Guterres expressed his regret over the news that more than 20 civilians had been killed in an air strike in Omdurman.
He condemned the killing of civilians due to the violence in the Darfur region, and expressed his concern regarding the renewed fighting in the states of North Kordofan, South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
He said that there is a complete disregard for humanitarian law and human rights in a dangerous and disturbing way.
