Dengue fever sweeps Khartoum.. and the Ministry of Health is moving

On Monday, the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State revealed a large spread of Ldengue fever Among housewives and self-employed people in the Sudanese capital.

The suspected cases reached 95, of which 46 were positive, or 48%, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 1,686, of which 933 were confirmed, or 55.3%, according to a report issued by the Ministry’s General Department of Emergency and Epidemic Control.

The report also indicated that 4 imported injuries were discovered from outside the capital, and two deaths were recorded, with 3 injuries in the hospital.

He also added that the localities of Umbada, west of Omdurman, and Karari, south of Omdurman, in addition to the locality of Khartoum, suffer from an outbreak of dengue fever.

While the Ministry of Health in Khartoum intervened with inspections, education and mist spraying to reduce mosquito breeding sites inside homes.

She called on citizens to use mosquito nets, change drinking water every 3 days, and go to health units when symptoms of the disease appear.

It is noteworthy that the state of North Kordofan recorded the first case of dengue fever on October 22, following the national laboratory examinations showed that there were 18 cases, before the infection spread to 12 out of 18 Sudanese states.
