Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs, revealed the latest developments regarding the spread of dengue fever in Egypt, and the presence of some cases of it.
Taj El-Din said, during a telephone conversation with the journalist Sayed Ali on the “Hazrat Al-Muwatin” program broadcast on the “Al-Hadath Al-Youm” channel: Dengue fever has been present in Egypt for a long time, and all preventive precautions to get rid of the mosquito that transmits the disease are being taken in a strong manner by the authorities. Locally, in some of the governorates in which they are located, all measures must be taken in order to reduce the disease first, and the spread of mosquitoes that transmit the disease once more.
The Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs continued: All cases exposed to the disease receive medication and recover naturally.
An official source at the Directorate of Health and Population in Qena previously denied the occurrence of any deaths due to infection with dengue fever in the villages of the Qus Center in southern Qena, stressing that the epidemiological situation of the fever has stabilized.
The source added that preventive medicine teams are intensifying sterilization campaigns in Qus villages several times a day to eliminate mosquitoes that transmit the disease, while educating residents not to drink any open water exposed to the air inside the house.
The source pointed out that during the period of weather fluctuations at the beginning of winter, cases of colds and simple fevers whose treatment does not exceed 48 hours increase, which has created a state of confusion among the people regarding the return of the spread of dengue fever once more, stressing the availability of all types of medicines for dengue fever and colds.
