Dengue Epidemic Update: Rising Cases in Guadeloupe and Saint Barthélemy

The Regional Health Agency of Guadeloupe, Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy published this Friday the latest data on the dengue epidemic which is raging in the three territories. If it remains low in Saint Martin, it is increasing in Guadeloupe and Saint Barthélemy; Precautionary measures are more necessary than ever.

Concretely, the results recorded last week and in comparison with the previous week are as follows:

In Guadeloupe :

860 cases clinically suggestive of dengue fever were counted compared to 830 a week earlier. They required 31 visits to the Emergency Department of Basse-Terre or Pointe à-Pître compared to 70 previously. 7 of these 31 people were hospitalized following their visit to the Emergency Department.

In Saint Barthélemy:

15 cases were confirmed compared to 13 the previous week 12 of them were clinically confirmed compared to 9 previously 3 visits to the Emergency Department were necessary (compared to 5 previously) No hospitalization following the Emergency

A Saint Martin :

8 confirmed cases compared to 3 the previous week 7 clinically suggestive cases like the week before 6 of these people required emergency treatment compared to 5 previously only 1 of them was hospitalized ©ARS Share the article Close the sharing window
