Five people were injured yesterday evening in a fire that broke out in a monumental building on the Prinsegracht in The Hague: the fire that broke out under the stairs of the building in the center of the city caused panic in the residents and two people jumped from a window to escape the flames. Both are hospitalized. Three others suffered smoke inhalation and were treated on the spot by paramedics, NOS says.
Firefighters evacuated all fourteen homes in the 17th-century building while a resident and a cat were rescued through a window. The approximately thirty residents of the building were treated in a nearby café.
The firefighters quickly put out the flames, says the portal but for now it is not clear when the evacuated residents will be able to go home.
