Nearly 200 people demonstrated on Monday, August 8, in Rabat in solidarity with the Palestinians, following the deadly Israeli bombardments once morest Gaza, also demanding the “fall” of normalization between Rabat and the Zionist entity.

The demonstrators, gathered outside the parliament in the center of the kingdom’s capital, held up placards condemning “the Zionist aggression once morest the Gaza Strip”, AFP reported.

They also chanted slogans once morest the restoration of diplomatic relations between ‘Israel’ and Morocco.

“The people want the fall of normalization,” proclaimed the protesters, mostly from far left and Islamic parties.

An Israeli flag was burned during this demonstration which comes the day following a truce between the Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad and the Zionist entity, obtained thanks to the mediation of Egypt.

During three days of attacks, 44 Palestinians including children were martyred following Israeli strikes once morest the Gaza Strip.

‘Israel’ and Morocco normalized diplomatic relations in December 2020 under Washington-backed normalization agreements.

In return, the Trump administration recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the disputed territory of Western Sahara.

This normalization is accompanied by an increasingly regular flow of Israeli delegations to Morocco.

Last week, Israeli Police Chief Yaakov Shabtai paid an official visit to the kingdom.
