England – Demonstrations rejecting the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip spread across a number of European capitals and cities yesterday, Saturday, as the demonstrators affirmed their rejection of the continuation of the war and demanded an end to the series of killing and starvation once morest the residents of the Strip.
Britain witnessed more than 32 demonstrations and local activities in support of the Palestinians in more than 25 cities, including the capital, London, and Manchester, the largest city in northern England, in which thousands participated.
London alone witnessed 4 demonstrations demanding a ceasefire in Gaza. Demonstrators gathered in the Camden area, in the British capital, and marched to the office of opposition Labor Party leader Keir Starmer, in the Mornington Crescent area, to protest his positions on the Israeli war on Gaza.
The demonstrators accused the British government of supporting Israel and turning a blind eye to the genocide, and chanted slogans such as “Free Palestine,” “Palestine will be liberated from the river to the sea,” and “Stop the genocide.”
Demonstrations also took place in many cities across the United Kingdom, such as Bristol, Brighton, and Southampton in England, Cardiff, the capital of Wales, and Kirkwall in Scotland.
A bicycle tour was held in the city of Hastings (south) in solidarity with Palestine.
The demonstrators in Manchester also demanded an immediate end to the war on Gaza, an end to the genocide committed by Israel, and an end to British military and diplomatic support for Tel Aviv.
In the French capital, Paris, the demonstrators demanded an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and chanted slogans accusing the West of complicity in what is happening in the Strip.
The protesters also called for the protection of Palestinian civilians and medical and relief teams, and warned of the harbinger of a new catastrophe for the Palestinian people, demanding that the French government refrain from exporting weapons to Israel.
They stressed the need to open an investigation into members of the Israeli army who hold French citizenship, due to their possible involvement in war crimes.
Supporters of Palestine also began a hunger strike in front of the headquarters of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris in solidarity with Gaza.
A large number of demonstrators gathered near the French Foreign Ministry in Paris to protest the attacks launched by Israeli forces on Gaza months ago.
The demonstrators carried the Palestinian flag and banners reading: “Stop apartheid,” “Stop violating international law,” “Stop genocide…Israel is a criminal,” “Emmanuel Macron is a partner,” and “Stop the massacre of the Palestinian people.”
In the German capital, Berlin, hundreds participated in a march to stand alongside the Palestinian people, amid chants demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza.
The demonstrators raised Palestinian banners and flags, chanting the slogans “Freedom for the Palestinian people,” “Stop the genocide in Gaza,” “This is not a war, but genocide,” and “Stand by Palestine.”
Demonstrations also took place in the center of the Danish capital, Copenhagen, to demand an immediate end to the Israeli aggression on Gaza. The demonstrators raised banners and chanted slogans calling for an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people in surprise, and the lifting of the siege on the Gaza Strip, along with the need to deliver aid.
The demonstrators also denounced attempts to beautify Israel’s image in Europe.
In New Zealand, a demonstration took place in the city of New Plymouth, demanding an end to the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The demonstrators who raised Palestinian flags chanted slogans denouncing the Israeli war and the crimes committed once morest civilians in Gaza. They also called on the New Zealand government to take a position on the genocide once morest the Palestinians.
In Australia, a number of children demonstrated in Russell Square in Perth, demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza and freedom for Palestine.
The demonstration organizers hung pictures of Gaza children who were martyred during the Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7th.
The “Perth Mothers for Palestine” organization called for a gathering of children to commemorate Palestinian Children’s Day, which falls on April 5 of each year, to highlight the starvation and killing that Palestinian children are exposed to.
