Nadler added in an interview with MSNBC that Netanyahu is not making any significant effort to release the Israeli hostages from the grip of the Palestinian factions movement.
The MP commented on the Israeli Prime Minister’s speech, saying: “Netanyahu’s speech was not sincere, and I attended it out of respect for the State of Israel, not in support of him. He continues to put obstacles in the way of the hostage agreement, and that is why the Israelis are demonstrating against him.”
He stressed that Netanyahu knows that he will face judicial investigations once the war ends, so he wants it to continue for as long as possible to avoid trial.
In the same context, former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “Netanyahu’s speech is the worst presentation ever made by a foreign figure who has had the honor of addressing Congress.”
Pelosi added: “The families of the hostages are demanding a ceasefire deal and the return of their sons, and we hope that Netanyahu will devote his time to achieving this.”
Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders said, “The Israelis do not want Netanyahu in office, so he came to Congress to campaign.”
He added, “All humanitarian organizations confirm that tens of thousands of children are facing famine because the Netanyahu government is preventing aid.”
“Netanyahu is not only a war criminal, he is also a liar,” Sanders concluded.
On Wednesday evening, Netanyahu delivered a speech before the US Congress, in an attempt to pressure the United States to provide more support to Israel in the context of its war on the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid considered Netanyahu’s speech before the US Congress a “shame” on Wednesday evening.
Lapid wrote on his account on the “X” platform: “What a shame! A whole hour of speech without saying the most important sentence: ‘There will be a deal to return the kidnapped.’”
