Lawyer Cho responded to Rep. In Gangbuk-eul, Seoul, former lawmaker Jeong Bong-ju of the pro-Myeong faction defeated non-Myung faction lawmaker Park Yong-jin in the primary, but had his nomination canceled due to controversy over past harsh remarks. Representative Lee Jae-myung announced that he would not be able to succeed the nomination to Rep. Park, who placed second, and a two-person strategic primary between Attorney Cho and Rep. Park was decided on the 17th.
