In a context where workers’ rights are too often violated, the Democratic Federation of Labor (FDT) emerges as an unshakable bulwark in the quest for social justice in Morocco. As a major trade union centre, the FDT deplores, in an unequivocal press release, its unjustified exclusion from social dialogue.

Positioning itself as a bold and resolute voice, ready to vigorously defend the interests of workers in the face of injustices and abuses, the FDT also launched a vibrant call for solidarity and resistance, while revealing the government’s flagrant failings towards workers and highlighting major gaps in compliance with sectoral agreements, particularly in the crucial areas of health and justice.

The central office of the FDT highlighted the lack of seriousness in the dialogues, in particular with regard to local authorities, the Chambers of Crafts and the Post Office. These shortcomings demonstrate, according to the FDT, a government disinterest in the concerns of workers and civil servants in the public sector.

In a country where the gap between the rich and the poor continues to widen, where the weight of taxes crushes the most modest families, it is urgent to act. This is why the FDT demands concrete measures to improve the living conditions of Moroccan workers. She calls for a general increase in salaries and allowances, as well as tax reductions to relieve economic pressure on households. In addition, the FDT insists on the adoption of fair and equitable pension systems, warning once morest any reforms that might further impoverish workers.

The question of trade union freedoms is also at the heart of the FDT’s concerns. In particular, it calls on the government to enact laws guaranteeing respect for these freedoms and protection once morest unfair dismissals, emphasizing the importance of these measures before any regulation on the right to strike.

The rise in economic tensions in Morocco also concerns the FDT. The planned elimination of subsidies on butane gas risks worsening the already precarious living conditions of the population. The FDT warns of the disastrous social consequences of such a decision.

But the Democratic Federation of Labor does not just denounce injustices: it calls for action. In a context where social tension is at its peak, where families are struggling to make ends meet, it is time to stand up and say no to oppression. The FDT calls for unity, solidarity, resistance and stands alongside all those who fight for social justice, for a world where everyone can live with dignity. Because only collective struggle can reverse injustices and pave the way to a fairer and more equitable future for all.

The FDT also reaffirms its unwavering support for the Palestinian people, firmly condemning the acts of violence and oppression perpetrated by Israel in Gaza. She calls on the international community for urgent intervention to put an end to these atrocities and guarantee the security and dignity of the Palestinian people.
