Spokesperson for the Democratic Party, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, said that his party supports the idea of ​​elected president Prabowo Subianto forming a special forum for previous Indonesian presidents to discuss strategic national issues. He said Prabowo’s ideas were similar to the wishes of the Chairman of the Democratic Party’s High Council and the Sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

“Democrats are very supportive and this is in line with Mr. SBY’s dream some time ago. In his dream, he said that he would gather with Mr. Jokowi, Mrs. Megawati at Gambir Station to be greeted by the eighth president of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Zaky when contacted, Friday (3/5).

In June 2023, SBY admitted that he dreamed of taking the Gajayana train to Central Java and East Java with Megawati Soekarnoputri and Jokowi. He said the train ticket was paid for by the president-elect in the 2024 presidential election.

At first he admitted that he was picked up by Jokowi at his residence in Cikeas and then picked up Megawati at her residence before the three of them went to Gambir Station. Arriving in Gambir, SBY saw the eighth President of the Republic of Indonesia waiting and handing over a train ticket.

“And now Pak Prabowo has a similar idea, however this is very good and positive. We have three presidents who are still alive, healthy, who have a lot of policies, experience, knowledge of the country’s situation, regarding the solutions that should be taken,” he said.

According to him, the results of meetings or discussions in the forum called the presidential club might also be input for Prabowo to produce the right policies for the interests of the Indonesian people.

“Of course Mr. Prabowo doesn’t need to repeat himself, he doesn’t need to experience it first. He can listen to suggestions from other people (previous presidents),” he explained.

This idea was conveyed by Prabowo Subianto’s spokesperson, Dahnil Azhar Simanjuntak. According to him, the forum aims to ensure that former presidents can continue to meet regularly and discuss strategic national issues.

Dahnil believes that when the time comes, Prabowo will meet President Jokowi, the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), and the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri. (Z-2)
