Co-Captain of the AMIN National Team, Sudirman Said, asked the public to help correct Joko Widodo’s government, which is increasingly showing an authoritarian character. Sudirman reminded that if society continues to allow this authoritarian leadership style to continue, then in the future democracy will disappear.
“This era is much worse than the authoritarian era of Pak Harto (Suharto). In the past, Pak Harto was also authoritarian, but his leadership qualities were maintained. The current situation of KKN continues everywhere. “We are facing a big danger, namely the paralysis of the function of public leadership,” said Sudirman in a discussion entitled ‘Quarter Reflections on Reform’, Thursday (14/3).
Sudirman invited the public to get involved directly with professors from various universities and students to restore the state of democracy to the spirit of reform.
He also mentioned that recently, the quality of leadership in Indonesia at various levels has also decreased drastically. The leader recruitment system is only based on electoral figures. So that it ignores the qualities that a leader should have.
“How in the future do we include qualitative elements in our leadership recruitment. “So it is not only related to normative criteria numbers but really provides space for the emergence of figures who have potential and integrity and have credibility,” he said. (Z-8)
