Angolan Demarte Pena failed, on Friday night, to defend his Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world title in Paris, France, following losing in the 12th edition of the ARES Fighting Championship.
The Angolan champion lost to the British Louis Lee Scott, by UD (Unanimous Decision) of the three judges of the fight.
On social media, Demarte Pena lamented the fact that he had not achieved his objective of reclaiming the trophy, in a fight in which he suffered a muscle injury.
“Sorry family, I injured my arm muscle and it was difficult to do more. I thought I won the first three rounds, but my opponent is a great fighter”, he stressed.
It should be noted that, despite the defeat, Demarte Pena took home a monetary value of 10 thousand Euros. Around nine million Kwanzas.
The fight featured eight rounds, to defend the title he won on February 17, 2023, when he defeated, also in France, the Algerian fighter Elias Boudegzadame.
34 years old, The Wolf, as he is known in sports, has a record of 14 wins, now two defeats and zero draws. His opponent Louis Lee Scott, 24 years old, now boasts eight wins, zero defeats and zero draws.
