Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania compared the vapor released by menthol and non-menthol vapers in a lab.

They found that e-cigarettes containing menthol generated significantly more toxic microparticles than non-menthol varieties.

An analysis of nearly two dozen vapers also found that users of menthol e-cigarettes had worse breathing and poorer lung health than those who vaped other flavors.

Once touted as a healthy way to quit smoking, e-cigarettes are now considered as harmful as cigarettes. Experts no longer consider them to be a relatively safe alternative.
