Thousands of people took to the streets this Saturday in the capitals of Germany and the United Kingdom to demand that the authorities stop sending arms to Ukraine and promote a diplomatic and negotiated solution to the conflict between this country and Russia.

According to protest organizers in Germany, around 50,000 people braved the freezing temperatures and marched in Berlin during the “Peace Uprising.”
For its part, the Police estimated that between 10,000 and 13,000 demonstrators supported the anti-war protest and demanded that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stop the escalation in the delivery of weapons.

This mobilization was called by the leader of the pro-communist wing of the La Izquierda collective, Sahra Wagenknecht, and the feminist activist Alice Schwarzer.
Meanwhile, thousands of activists rallied in London’s Trafalgar Square, urging Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s government to stop arms shipments to kyiv.

According to press reports, the event was attended by the former leader of the British Labor Party, Jeremy Corbyn. The protesters warned that the shipment of arms to Ukraine endangers peace in the region.
In addition to the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom are among the countries that have provided the greatest military support to the Government of Volodimyr Zelenski since the Russian special military operation began on February 24, 2022 to protect the population of Donbas and denazify- demilitarize Ukraine.
