ACTRESS Della Dartyan admitted that she was happy to play the role of an older sister and it was an interesting experience when she played in the film Sakaratul Maut because she is the only child in her family.
“I’m an only child. So, since long ago, I wanted to have a sibling. So I’m happy, Indah is also a really cool person, the chemistry just built up, let it flow without being forced,” said Della, quoted on Tuesday (16/7)
Della said in her role this time she acted with Indah Permatasari, who played Retno as her sister. The bond between the players was also very positive which made her enjoy filming the film Sakaratul Maut.
The film that was shot in Yogyakarta also became an advantage for Della because it was her mother’s birthplace. That also helped Della to master Javanese dialogue fluently.

“It just so happens that my mother is from Jogja and lives in Jogja, so it was quite helpful for the dialect and atmosphere of the city of Jogja because the set felt like I was at my grandmother’s house, so I was quite helped and blended in with the situation,” said Della.
In playing in this film, Della also had time to play a scene when she had to walk on an empty and dark street. It made her quite scared because she was facing a ghost figure who was a khodam in this film.
“It was really quiet and empty at that time, the creepy thing was that there were many shots from afar, the crew were all gone so I actually walked alone, the lights were off technically, that’s where our father’s khodam appeared, I actually experienced it myself, there was no CGI,” said Della.

According to him, acting in a horror film is a different experience because everything requires extra work in terms of acting, physical and mental.
In addition, director Sidharta Tata, who handled this film, was also the reason Della wanted to return to playing in horror films.
He was also free to express the character he played so that he might display a role that was related to his real life.
The film Sakaratul Maut tells the story of a spirit in the body of Mr. Wito, Retno and Wati’s father, which causes him to experience sakaratul maut.
