Dell unveiled an innovatively designed and redesigned from the ground up XPS 13 Plus at CES in January 2022, and the larger XPS 15 and 17 were expected to be revamped as early as this year. However, this will ultimately not be the case for the time being. We will find thin aluminum frames, partly covered with carbon, and screens with particularly thin borders which make the refinement of these computers.
12th generation Intel and DDR5 RAM on the program
It is on the component side that you have to look for new features with the arrival of 12th generation Intel processors in particular. For the XPS 15 as for the 17, three configurations will be offered in Core i5-12500H, Core i7-12700H and Core i9-12900HK. Enough to greatly improve the performance of the computer, which we will of course check during our tests.
We must add to these new CPUs 8 to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, which is also entering the laptop market, as well as Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti graphics cards on certain XPS 15 models, and RTX 3050 and 3060 for the XPS 17.
On the screen side, we will find the classic panels in 16:10 IPS Full HD and 4K format as well as the 3.5 K Oled panels introduced by the brand in 2021. Note, however, that the XPS 17 does not offer this Oled panel. Incidentally, touchscreens will still be available as an option.
We are impatient to be able to test these new machines which promise to be excellent as usual, even if questions remain as to their respective performance and autonomy. See you very soon to get to the bottom of it…
