Shanghai(OTS) –

Shanghai, August 21, 2024 /PRNewswire/ – Shanghai Electric A subsidiary of Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group (Hong Kong Stock Exchange stock code: 2727, Shanghai Stock Exchange stock code: 601727) recently took delivery of Asia’s first offshore wind power service operation vessel (SOV) – Zhizhen 100 and Zhicheng 60 in Qidong, Jiangsu. The mother ship built by Zhenhua Heavy Industry can carry out continuous operation and maintenance work in deep water and deep-sea wind farms, which to a large extent solves the problems of the offshore transport ships currently used in our country. These include short time windows, inability to operate continuously, frequent trips back and forth, low efficiency, and poor operating capabilities in harsh sea conditions.

Liu Xiangnan Vice President of Shanghai Electric Wind Power GroupComment: “These two offshore wind power service operation ships integrate efficient operation and maintenance, green and smart operation and maintenance, and are important carriers of the pioneering pattern of deep-sea power and wind power, supporting the high-quality development of offshore wind power in China. Offshore “We will enhance wind power Operations and maintenance capabilities.

The specifications of Zhizhen 100 and Zhicheng 60 are different:

  • The Zhizhen 100 has a total length of 93.4 meters, a molded width of 18 meters, a molded depth of 7.6 meters, and a planned sailing speed of 12.3 knots;
  • The Zhicheng 60-type ship has a total length of 72.76 meters, a molded width of 17.5 meters, a molded depth of 7 meters, and a planned sailing speed of 12 knots.

The two SOVs delivered are designed for efficient, sustainable, smart and safe maintenance. They are all equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system and have an extra-large cargo hold that can store heavy-duty wind turbine parts, with a self-sufficiency capacity of more than 30 days.

  • Zhizhen 100 and Zhicheng 60 are equipped with active wave compensation piers, which can reduce hull displacement caused by waves, enabling efficient personnel and spare parts transfer and wind farm maintenance even in rough seas.
  • They are equipped with folding arm offshore cranes, work boats, boarding racks and aluminum helicopter platforms.
  • The ship adopts diesel-electric and lithium-electric hybrid power systems, all-electric propulsion, and DC bus distribution. It has obtained hybrid ship and green ship certifications from China Classification Society (CCS).
  • The advanced intelligent operating system improves maintenance efficiency, reduces labor intensity, and expands the operating window.

“As the pioneer, leader and builder of China’s offshore wind power, Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group has been deeply involved in the development and growth of China’s offshore wind power and actively responded to China’s demand for offshore wind power to expand into in-depth marine development,” Liu said.
