New Delhi: The Delhi Police denied the news that there was insufficient evidence against former wrestling federation president Brij Bhushan Singh. Hindustan Times reported that the police informed that the report given by the news agency is wrong and the investigation in the case is in progress.

Several media reported that no sufficient evidence has been found against former wrestling president Brij Bhushan and the final report on the matter is to be submitted to the court. But this news is false. The investigation of the case is progressing,” Delhi Police tweeted.

Earlier, ANI had reported that the Delhi Police had informed that Brij Bhushan could not be arrested due to lack of evidence. After this, Delhi Police came denying the news.

ANI reported that so far no sufficient evidence has been found to arrest Brij Bhushan and the report will be submitted to the court within 15 days.

So far, we have not been able to find enough evidence to arrest Brij Bhushan. We will submit the report to the court within 15 days. It may be a charge sheet or a final report. “There is no evidence to support the complaint of the wrestlers,” ANI reported earlier quoting the Delhi Police.

F.I. ANI also reported that the POCSO sections under the six carry a jail term of less than seven years, so arrests cannot go ahead as the accused claim.

Meanwhile, the Khap Panchayat, which the wrestlers were supposed to join today, has been postponed to tomorrow. The decision regarding the action of the strike will be taken in Khap Panchayat.

Alleging that the central government is protecting Brij Bhushan, the wrestlers came to throw their medals in the Ganga on Tuesday. But the farmer leaders intervened and pushed the players back. The players had informed the farmers that if no action was taken within five days, they would return to flood the Ganges.

The wrestlers have been protesting since April 23 demanding the arrest of former wrestling federation president Brij Bhushan Singh on a sexual complaint.
