Delhi Health Minister Accuses Department of Submitting False Affidavit to High Court

New Delhi: Delhi’s Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on Tuesday alleged that the health department has submitted an affidavit in the High Court containing false information, and that the affidavit was filed without his knowledge. While addressing a press conference, Saurabh Bhardwaj accused a larger conspiracy, stating that he would write a letter to the Law Department regarding the issue.
The Delhi High Court is hearing a petition regarding the expansion of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds in hospitals. He mentioned that a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Sareen to suggest improvements to health facilities in Delhi. He alleged that the court had questioned the government’s actions based on the recommendations of the Sareen committee on May 24. I was surprised that the health department submitted an affidavit without my knowledge. He claimed that the affidavit was presented through the service department.

False Affidavit Submitted in Court

He alleged that he has been writing letters to the Chief Secretary for months regarding the severe shortage of medicines in hospitals and Mohalla Clinics, and sending data. Despite this, an affidavit was submitted in the High Court, approved by the Health Secretary, claiming that all medicines are available. This is a conspiracy to present falsehoods in court so that the court makes adverse comments. He stated that he is writing a letter to the Law Department for strict action against the Health Secretary for presenting false facts and misleading the court.

AAP Also Targets LG

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has commented on this affidavit in a post on X. In the post, AAP referred to it as a conspiracy by the LG’s lawyer. AAP wrote that the Health Secretary and the LG’s lawyer are conspiring against their own department’s minister. The affidavit claims that two decisions are pending with the minister, whereas the truth is that there are no files pending with the minister. This affidavit is a conspiracy to mislead the court. The Health Secretary and lawyers appointed by the LG purposely submitted a false affidavit, so the court would believe that the minister is the one delaying the files.
