New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been arrested by the CBI in a case related to liquor policy. He was being questioned in the case since this morning. The arrest was recorded in the evening.

Amid speculations that Sisodia may be arrested today, the Aam Aadmi Party has organized large-scale protests in the national capital.

Sisodia was asked to appear for questioning last week, but Sisodia changed the time citing inconvenience. requested. Earlier in October, Sisodia was arrested by the CBI. questioned. He was not named in the charge sheet originally filed in the case.

Sisodia is the second Delhi minister to go to jail. In another case, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain is currently in jail.

The CBI investigation is related to the Delhi Liquor Sale Policy introduced in 2021. Lt Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has recommended a CBI probe into irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy.

The main allegation is that bribery transactions took place to grant licenses to liquor shops. The AAP government withdrew the policy amid controversy.
