Team India’s keeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik came up with an interesting answer to a question regarding the ODI World Cup 2019 semi-final once morest New Zealand in Manchester.
The Kiwis shocked India by 18 runs in a two-day knockout battle due to weather interruption. Batting first, New Zealand posted only 239/8 on the board. It can be said that India lost the game only because of careless batting by the Indian batsmen.
In reply, the Men in Blue collapsed to 5/3 in four overs with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul all dismissed for one run each. In an unexpected move, Karthik moved up to No. 5 in the batting order ahead of Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja.
Karthik, who scored six runs off 25 balls, was dismissed by Kiwis pacer Matt Henry. His wicket put India in dire straits at 24/4 following exactly 10 overs.
On Tuesday, February 7, Karthik held an #Askdk session on Twitter. One of the users tried to troll the keeper-batsman and questioned his batting pace in the 2019 World Cup semi-final once morest New Zealand.
“Tell me a word regarding the innings you played in the semi-final.”
Karthik replies:
“Delete it now.”
The actor is also sharing the emoji which means that he is also wise in this.
After DK’s dismissal, it looked like Team India would face a huge defeat. However, Jadeja (77 off 59 balls) helped India fight back. He was well supported by MS Dhoni (50 off 72 balls).
Eventually, India lost the match by 18 runs.
