Delcy Rodríguez: We are voting in consensus for peace

Thanking the State institutions, the members of the Plan República and the international companions, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that although they wanted to disrupt the electoral process, it was reached in peace.

Rodríguez, who exercised his right to vote at the Padre Mendoza school in the El Valle parish, said that the process is very fast and assured that legality will be imposed.

“The best electoral system in the world, transparent, reliable and good, was talking to the voters who are in line and are very enthusiastic (…) today is a national holiday, because it is the holiday for democracy, it is also the party of us who celebrate the 70th birthday of Commander Hugo Chávez, we are happy to be able to exercise our right to vote today, July 28,” he stated.

For the Vice President, those who exercise their right to vote do so with a fundamental consensus of Venezuelan society, which is peace.

“The most important consensus is peace, another is democracy, economic recovery, being able to consolidate a state of social welfare, based on equality, inclusion, social justice, economic and political peace. Another consensus is the defense of our territory of Guayana Esequiba, undisputed territory of Venezuela,” the senior official emphasized.

He expressed that the Electoral Branch has had a good performance, which has activated more than 15 thousand voting centers, activated to receive and capture the will of the Venezuelan people.

He thanked the presence of more than one hundred international observers who will witness the will of the people. “Of an unwavering, unbreakable will, which today came out to vote for peace.”

The vice president considers that the Venezuelan people are always encouraged to vote and pointed out that everything is completely normal, except for a few incidents carried out by extremist groups.

“They have to do with expressions of extremism that will be defeated in this party for peace, people are voting for tranquility. The Venezuelan people know that tomorrow, July 29, there will be a beautiful dawn, Venezuela will be at peace so that the normality of our people can continue, a people that wants to exercise all their rights fully, without criminal blockades, promoted by extremists, without a blockade against political life of the country,” Rodríguez exclaimed.

He added that the people have the right to live, to progress, to the country, to the future and to hope and that they could not disturb the electoral process.

He reiterated that the only legitimate results are those granted by the Electoral Power and “the rest is show and here legality and institutionality will prevail.”

Finally, he said that the President will continue to be President and exercise the powers granted to him by the Constitution.
