Delcy Rodríguez reappears on social media after falling from a tree: “Nothing will stop us”

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez reappeared on Wednesday with a brief message on social media following being injured on Tuesday by a falling tree in the coastal state of Sucre. “Nothing will stop us,” proclaimed the number two of Nicolas Maduro. “Nothing will stop us together with President Nicolas Maduro in our love for Venezuela and the people,” she said, along with images of her tour of some of the areas affected by the passage of Hurricane Beryl, which has left at least three dead in the South American country. However, no images of Rodriguez have been released since Maduro announced in a public appearance that “she had an accident” and was “very badly hurt” by the fall of a tree in Cumanacoa. “She is very conscious and strong,” stressed the Venezuelan president, who also denounced hate messages on social media once morest his vice president. The tree fell on a vehicle carrying part of the official delegation, which has also affected other authorities. Opposition leader Henrique Capriles has lamented the “emergency” that occurred in Cumanacoa, but has asked the government not to turn it into “political proselytism” and “take care of caring for the families affected” by the storm, which has also put other countries in the area on alert. In total, at least seven deaths have been confirmed throughout the region.
