Delays in paying public debt affect business activity in Cabinda – Jornal OPaís

The delay in paying the public debt contracted by the Provincial Government of Cabinda, in the period between 1996 and 2018, with local businesspeople, valued at more than 70 billion kwanzas and an additional amount of around USD 2 million, is causing condition business activity at local level

Contracted through public investments made, provision of goods and services, and supply of equipment, the lack of liquidation has forced some companies to close their doors and others are having difficulty honoring commitments made, especially in paying salaries to employees and purchasing of raw materials and more.

In response, the governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, publicly announced in this city that the Technical Team for Analysis and Certification of Arrears (ETACA) received and analyzed 353 complaint processes, of which 221 were validated, 46 are pending your confirmation.

According to the official, there are still 21 that were rejected for not meeting the legal requirements, 65 cases are being analyzed by the General Inspection of State Administration (IGAE) and 32 creditors have already been paid by the Ministry of Finance, in the amount of 15 billion, 219 million, 836 thousand and 116 kwanzas.
