After industry objections, the plan, which would also include Dell and HP, was quickly delayed for regarding three months and faced criticism from Washington.

Today, the electronics ministry proposed a simpler import registration procedure, which is expected to begin in November, said the officials, who have direct knowledge of the discussions. The ministry conveyed this proposal to industry representatives during a meeting held on Friday.
