Head of the mobility, territory and environment department, Franz Ruppen decided last November to take a step back and launch a review. He considers that the context has changed a great deal since the launch of the project in 2000 and the start of work in 2009. This is why independent experts have been appointed to take stock and formulate any proposals for adaptation. Their report should have been released by the end of June. It will finally not be available before the fall, interviews are still in progress. In the meantime, work is continuing according to schedule.
The “nervousness” of the FOEN
According to the commission for equipment and transport of the Valais Grand Council in its report on controlling the mandates of political services for the 2022 account, “a certain nervousness is noted within the Federal Office for the Environment following the launch of the ‘analysis of the R3 project’.
