Delaware school employee arrested for pornography

A private school administrator in Delaware has been charged with trafficking child pornography.

William R. Ushler, 53, was arrested Tuesday, the same day authorities executed search warrants at his Wilmington home and Tower Hill School.

Ushler, director of secondary education admissions at Tower Hill, is charged with five counts of trafficking in child pornography, according to the Delaware Department of Justice. He is currently being held on $250,000 bond. It is not immediately clear if he has an attorney.

Tower HIll employees said in a statement to the school community that Ushler had been fired and was banned from campus.

“We have been advised that law enforcement authorities are aware of the source of the images in question and that these images do not represent Tower Hill students or children who were in contact with Mr. Ushler,” the email says.

According to a search warrant affidavit, the Child Predator Task Force received an online report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children on April 14. The report was started by Yahoo! Inc. and indicated that one of its email users had transferred files that possibly contained child pornography.

The emails identified in the report include two sent on March 21 from a naked girl who appears to be between 14 and 15 years old. In another, sent on August 10, 2019, the inappropriate image of a young teenager is seen. Three more images of nude girls were found on Ushler’s iPhone, according to investigators.
